The day was bright and hot at the Squirrel Club. The squirrels were approaching Duggee, who was lounging beneath a tree and enjoying the wind. Happy, Roly, Norrie, Tag, and Betty were all jumping with anticipation.
The Squirrels met him with a hearty “Hello, Duggee!”
Duggee, with his big smile, replied, “Hello, Squirrels! Today we have a very special activity.”
The Squirrels gathered around, curious.
“What are we doing today, Duggee?” asked Norrie.
Duggee pulled out a big shovel and a bucket from his bag. “Today, we are going to build sandcastles to earn the Sandcastle Badge,” he explained.
“Yay, sandcastles!” Roly jumped up excitedly.
The Squirrels were thrilled and ran to the beach. The sun was shining brightly, and the sand was soft and warm. Each of them had a different idea of what kind of castle to build.
Betty wanted to build a very tall castle with many towers. “My castle will be the biggest!” she said.
Happy, always thinking of water, decided to make a castle with a pool. “My castle will have a pool filled with water!” she said happily.
Tag, on the other hand, dreamed of many tall towers and a bridge. “My castle will have lots of towers and a big bridge,” he said with a smile.
“We need more sand!” Norrie said, looking around.
“I’ll bring sand!” Roly exclaimed. He started digging quickly, using his paws to gather big piles of sand. Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh! Sand flew everywhere.
“Haha! That tickles!” Happy laughed, covered in sand.
The Squirrels worked together. Betty shaped the towers, Tag built a bridge with rocks and wood, and Happy decorated the castle with seashells and little starfish.
“We just need the flag!” said Norrie as she looked at their nearly finished castle.
After giving it some thought, Duggee reached inside his backpack and took out a crimson handkerchief. He carefully positioned it atop the castle’s central tower. “Ta-da!” he said with pride.
As they admired their creation, the Squirrels said, “It’s the best sandcastle ever!”
However, a massive wave suddenly materialized on the horizon. Splash! When the tsunami approached the castle, it totally engulfed it.
