Chapter 1: Jack the Black Cat
In a small town, there lived a black cat named Jack. Jack was special. He had shiny fur and bright green eyes. Every Halloween night, he loved to go on adventures.
Jack liked Halloween because it was dark and spooky. He would sneak into houses to scare children who had been naughty. He thought it was funny to give them a little fright!
One chilly Halloween night, Jack saw a house with lights on. He tiptoed closer and peeked inside. Three kids—Tommy, Lily, and Ben—were sitting on the floor, eating candy. They had eaten too much candy before dinner!
Jack’s eyes sparkled with mischief. “This will be great!” he thought. He quietly slipped into the house and hid behind the couch.
Suddenly, he jumped onto the table and knocked over a big pumpkin! The pumpkin rolled across the floor with a loud crash. The kids screamed and looked around in shock.
“Did you hear that?” Tommy shouted. “I think it’s a ghost!”
Jack couldn’t help but giggle softly to himself. He loved scaring them! Next, he jumped down and let out a loud “MEOW!” The children jumped up and huddled together in fear.
Chapter 2: A Friendly Lesson
Just then, their mom walked into the room. “What’s happening here?” she asked with a smile.
Tommy pointed at the pumpkin. “A ghost scared us!” he cried.
Their mom laughed. “There are no ghosts here, just your imagination.” She turned on the light and saw Jack’s shiny black fur.
“Look! It’s just a cat!” she said.
Jack realized that scaring them was fun, but maybe it was too much. Instead of being scary, he wanted to help them learn to be good.
With a flick of his tail, Jack jumped down from the table and walked over to the kids. He rubbed against their legs and purred softly. The kids looked down at him in surprise.
“Maybe we should be nicer,” Lily said quietly. “We don’t want to make Jack mad!”
From that night on, Tommy, Lily, and Ben promised to behave better. They learned that being kind was more fun than being naughty.
Every Halloween after that, Jack visited them as their friendly black cat. Instead of scaring them, he reminded them that kindness is always the best treat!
