Cleo and her little brother Cuquin woke up early one sunny Saturday morning. The birds were singing outside, and the warm rays of sunshine peeked through their window. Cleo stretched her arms and smiled.

“Good morning, Cuquin! Today is perfect for an adventure,” she said, tying her hair with her favorite ribbon.

Cuquin, always full of energy, clapped his hands. “Adventure! Adventure!” he repeated happily.

After breakfast, Cleo gathered her notebook, a pencil, and a magnifying glass. She wanted to explore their big backyard and write down everything they discovered. Cuquin followed her, holding his little toy car, ready to play and laugh.

As soon as they stepped outside, Cleo pointed toward the tall oak tree. “Look, Cuquin! That’s our starting point. From here, we will go on a discovery journey.”

Cuquin shouted, “Go! Go!” and ran ahead.

The first thing they noticed was a line of ants marching across the grass. Cleo crouched down with her magnifying glass. “Wow! Ants are so small but very strong. They can carry food much bigger than themselves.”

Cuquin tried to copy the ants by carrying a big stick, wobbling from side to side until he tumbled on the soft grass. Cleo laughed and helped him up. “Good job, little ant Cuquin!”

Next, they moved toward the flower bed. Bright yellow marigolds and red roses danced in the breeze. Suddenly, a colorful butterfly landed on a petal. Cuquin’s eyes grew wide. “Pretty! Fly, fly!” he said.

Cleo whispered, “Butterflies help flowers grow by spreading pollen. They are nature’s helpers.” She wrote in her notebook, “Butterflies = helpers of flowers.” Cuquin pointed at the butterfly and giggled.

Their adventure continued when they heard a soft rustling sound. They tiptoed behind a bush and found a little frog hopping happily near the pond.

“Hello, Mr. Frog,” Cleo said gently. “Do you know frogs can live both in water and on land?”

Cuquin squatted and tried to hop like a frog, shouting, “Ribbit! Ribbit!” He landed with a funny splash in the shallow puddle. His clothes were wet, but his smile was enormous. Cleo shook her head with a grin. “You’re the funniest frog, Cuquin!”

Just when they thought their exploration was over, they noticed something sparkling under the tree. Cleo knelt down and discovered a small, shiny pebble. It glittered in the sunlight like a tiny jewel.

“Cuquin, this could be our treasure!” she exclaimed. She quickly drew a treasure map in her notebook, marking the oak tree, the flower bed, and the pond. She placed an “X” where they found the shiny pebble.

Cuquin held the pebble carefully and said, “Treasure! Mine!”

Cleo laughed and explained, “It’s our treasure, Cuquin. We discovered it together.”

The siblings decided to keep exploring and hide the treasure for another day. They placed the pebble inside a small box they found in the shed and buried it gently near the oak tree. Cleo drew a big red X on her map to remember the spot.

As the sun began to set, Cleo and Cuquin sat on a blanket under the tree. Cleo reviewed her notes aloud:

  • Ants are strong.
  • Butterflies help flowers.
  • Frogs live on land and water.
  • We found a treasure pebble.

Cuquin clapped his hands proudly. “Adventure! Best day!”

Cleo hugged her little brother and whispered, “Every day can be an adventure if we look carefully. Nature is full of secrets waiting for us to discover.”

That night, before going to bed, Cleo placed the treasure map inside her drawer and promised Cuquin, “Tomorrow we’ll continue our journey.”

Cuquin, already half asleep, murmured with a smile, “Adventure… treasure…”

And so, Cleo and Cuquin’s backyard adventure became the beginning of many magical stories they would share together, full of laughter, discoveries, and sibling love.
