Halloween had finally arrived, and the Heeler family was buzzing with excitement. Bluey and Bingo had been talking about it for weeks, imagining costumes, candy, and spooky fun. The sky glowed orange as the sun began to set, and lanterns shaped like pumpkins lit up the streets.

“Are you ready, girls?” asked Bandit, their dad, holding a bag of treats.

“Ready!” shouted Bluey, adjusting her little witch hat.
“Me too!” added Bingo, dressed as a friendly ghost.

Chilli, their mum, smiled. “Remember, Halloween is about fun and imagination. There’s nothing to be afraid of.”

The family stepped outside into the cool night air. Children in costumes filled the sidewalks—pirates, fairies, and even tiny superheroes. Everyone laughed as they went from house to house, saying, “Trick or treat!”

But as they turned the corner, Bluey noticed something unusual. At the end of the street stood an old house with cobwebs on the fence and a giant pumpkin glowing on the porch. No one seemed to be visiting that house.

“Why is nobody going there?” Bingo whispered, holding Bluey’s paw tightly.

Bandit chuckled. “Maybe they ran out of candy.”
But Bluey tilted her head. “Or maybe… it’s haunted.”

The girls gasped, but curiosity sparkled in their eyes. “Let’s find out!” Bluey declared.

Chilli hesitated but nodded. “Okay, but we’ll stick together.”

The Heelers slowly walked up the creaky path. The wind rustled the trees, and the pumpkin lantern flickered, casting dancing shadows on the ground. Suddenly, a loud “Hooo-hooo!” echoed from inside the house.

Bingo squealed. “A ghost!”
Bluey’s heart pounded, but she took a brave step forward. “No, Bingo. We have to be brave. Maybe it’s just a Halloween trick.”

They knocked gently on the door. It creaked open by itself. Inside, the hallway was dark, except for glowing paper bats hanging from the ceiling. The “Hooo-hooo” sound echoed again.

“Stay behind me,” Bandit whispered, pretending to be serious.

Bluey tiptoed forward, holding Bingo’s paw. “Hello? Trick or treat?” she called.

Suddenly, the lights flickered on, and a big laugh filled the room. Out jumped Lucky’s dad, dressed in a silly skeleton costume. “Boo! Did I scare you?” he asked, chuckling.

Bluey and Bingo burst into giggles. “It was you all along!” Bluey shouted.

Lucky appeared too, wearing a vampire cape. “We were trying to make the house the spookiest in the street!”

The Heelers laughed with relief. They joined Lucky’s family for warm apple cider and cookies shaped like bats. But the night wasn’t over yet.

On their way back, Bluey and Bingo spotted a small black kitten hiding under a bush. It looked lost and scared. “Mum, Dad, look!” Bingo said softly.

Chilli knelt down. “Poor thing. Maybe it got separated from its owner during the trick-or-treating.”

Bluey gently reached out, and the kitten purred. “Don’t be scared. We’ll help you.”

The family asked around until they found a little girl dressed as a fairy, crying because her kitten had run away. When she saw Bluey carrying the kitten, her face lit up. “You found him! Thank you!”

The girl hugged Bluey and Bingo, and gave them extra candy as a reward.

As the Heelers walked home, the moon shone brightly above. “See,” Chilli said, “Halloween isn’t just about costumes and candy. It’s about helping others and having adventures together.”

Bluey grinned. “Yeah, and about being brave—even when things seem spooky.”

That night, as Bluey and Bingo snuggled into bed with their candy bags by their side, they whispered about their adventure. They had faced a “haunted” house, solved a spooky mystery, and even rescued a kitten. It had truly been the best Halloween night ever.
