Once upon a time, in the middle of a misty forest, there was a small place called Pumpkin Village. Every house in the village looked like a giant pumpkin, glowing with lanterns during Halloween night. Children loved visiting, because the streets smelled of cinnamon pies, and orange lights twinkled like stars.
One Halloween, something unusual happened. Villagers noticed a shadow moving across the rooftops. It wasn’t a witch on a broom or a ghost floating in the sky. Instead, a tall figure with a long cloak flapped silently in the wind.
“Could it be… a vampire?” whispered little Sarah, clutching her pumpkin lantern.
Her friends gasped. The very thought made the hairs on their arms rise. A vampire in Pumpkin Village? That sounded like the beginning of a spooky tale.
Later that evening, while the children collected candy, Sarah heard footsteps behind her. She turned and froze. A boy with pale skin, shiny shoes, and tiny fangs stood under the lantern light. His red eyes sparkled, but he looked more shy than scary.
“H-hello,” he stammered. “My name is Victor. Please don’t be scared—I only wanted to join the Halloween fun.”
Sarah blinked in surprise. “You’re a vampire?”
Victor nodded. “Yes, but I don’t drink blood. Pumpkin juice is all I need. It’s my favorite!”
The children giggled nervously as sweet orange juice dripped down his chin. Still, they weren’t completely sure they could trust him.
To prove his good intentions, Victor offered to show them something magical. “Come to the pumpkin fields after midnight,” he whispered. “I will share my secret.”
Curiosity grew stronger than fear. When the clock struck twelve, Sarah and her friends crept to the pumpkin patch. The air was cold, and the moon hung like silver over the forest. Victor was already there, waiting patiently.
He raised his hands, and suddenly the pumpkins glowed brighter than lanterns. One by one, they lifted into the air, floating like balloons. Gasps filled the night as the pumpkins swirled in circles, painting the sky with orange light.
“Wow!” Sarah exclaimed. “You’re not scary at all—you’re amazing!”
Victor smiled shyly. “Pumpkins give me strength. I only wanted to share my magic, not cause fear.”
The children clapped and cheered. From that night forward, Victor became a friend of Pumpkin Village. Every Halloween, he created the Pumpkin Light Show, filling the sky with glowing pumpkins that danced to the sound of laughter.
And so, the legend of the vampire in Pumpkin Village spread far and wide. Instead of a tale of terror, it became a story of kindness, friendship, and the true magic of Halloween.
