The Tale of Princess Penny and Her Super Specs
Once upon a time, in the glittering Kingdom of Crystal Creek, lived Princess Penny.
Penny was not your average princess. Sure, she had a crown made of silver, and she had a fluffy cat named Marshmallow. But Princess Penny had something else that made her special. She wore glasses.
They were big, round, and bright purple. Penny called them her “Super Specs.”
Every morning, Penny would wake up and—tap, tap, tap—reach for her nightstand. She would slide her glasses onto her nose. Suddenly, the blurry world became sharp and clear! She could see the dew drops on the roses in the garden. She could see the tiny ants marching in a line. She could see the smiles on the palace guards’ faces from far away.
One sunny morning, a terrible fuss took over the castle. Gasp! Oh no!
The King was running in circles. The Queen was looking under the rugs. Even the Royal Wizard was checking inside his hat.
“What is the matter?” asked Princess Penny, adjusting her purple glasses.
“The Royal Key!” cried the King. “I have lost the tiny golden key to the Treasure Chest! And today is the day we give gold coins to the village. If we don’t find it, there will be no celebration!”
The guards looked high. Clank, clank! The servants looked low. Swish, swish! But nobody could find the key. It was too small, and the castle was too big.
“Make way!” said the Captain of the Guards. “I have eagle eyes. I will find it.” He looked at the floor, but he only saw the big red carpet. He missed the little things.
Princess Penny stepped forward. She pushed her glasses up her nose. She didn’t look at the big room. She looked at the details. She walked slowly. Tip-toe, tip-toe.
She looked near the window. Nothing. She looked near the throne. Nothing. Then, she looked near the potted plant in the corner.
Through her shiny lenses, something sparkled. It was smaller than a beetle. It was hiding deep inside the fuzzy green moss of the plant pot. To anyone else, it looked like a piece of dirt. But to Penny, with her sharp, magnified vision, it was clear.
“I found it!” Penny cheered.
She reached down and pulled out the tiny golden key.
The King gasped. “But Penny! How did you see that? It was invisible to us!”
Penny smiled and tapped the rim of her purple frames. “You were all looking with your eyes, but I was looking with my Super Specs. My glasses help me see the magic in the tiny things that everyone else misses.”
The King hugged Penny tight. The Queen placed a flower in Penny’s hair.
From that day on, whenever something important was lost in the Kingdom of Crystal Creek, they didn’t call the guards or the wizard. They called Princess Penny and her magical purple glasses.
And every night, before she went to sleep, Penny would take off her glasses, clean them carefully, and whisper, “Thank you for helping me save the day.”
The End.
