The sun is going to sleep outside the bakery window. It paints the evening sky in soft pink colors. It paints the evening sky in gentle purple colors. Inside the cozy bakery, Puffly the Otter is feeling very tired. Puffly is a cute, chubby little otter. He loves to bake sweet treats for his friends. All day long, he wears a little white chef’s hat on his furry head. All day long, he wears a little cloth apron over his round tummy. But the baking is all done for the day.
Puffly the Otter has a tiny bit of white flour right on the tip of his nose. His brown eyes feel very heavy. His eyes feel like they want to close. The cozy room smells wonderfully sweet. The air smells like warm vanilla. The air smells like sweet cinnamon. It is a comforting smell. The warm air in the bakery is heavy and calm.
Puffly knows it is time to rest. The busy day is completely over. The little bakery is very still. The little bakery is very calm. Puffly walks around his quiet kitchen. He walks on soft, slow paws. He wants to gently say goodnight to all his baking tools. He walks to the center of the room. He looks at his big mixing bowl. The bowl is round and smooth. Puffly softly says, “Goodnight, big mixing bowl, time to stay still.” He gently touches the smooth edge of the bowl.
Then, Puffly walks to the long counter. He looks at his favorite wooden spoon. The spoon is long and gentle. Puffly softly says, “Goodnight, wooden spoon, no more stirring today.” He gently touches the smooth wood. The spoon will rest until tomorrow.
Finally, Puffly walks to his oven. The oven is big and strong. It still feels nice and warm from the baking. Puffly softly says, “Goodnight, warm oven. Thank you for your hard work today.” The kitchen is fully ready to sleep.
Puffly the Otter is ready to sleep, too. He reaches up to his head. He takes off his little chef’s hat. He unties the strings around his tummy. He takes off his little apron. He hangs the hat and the apron carefully on a small wooden peg. They will rest there all night long.
Next, Puffly goes to the sink. Warm water covers his little paws. He washes the tiny bit of white flour from his nose. The warm water feels so good. The warm water feels very relaxing. Puffly dries his paws on a soft towel.
Now, he puts on his softest, coziest pajamas. The soft fabric is gentle against his fur. He walks to his comfortable bed in the quiet corner of the room. The bed is waiting for him. Puffly climbs into the comfortable bed. He lies down on the soft mattress. He pulls up the heavy, warm blanket. He tucks the heavy blanket right under his little chin.
The blanket feels like a big, gentle hug. Puffly feels completely safe. Puffly feels completely warm. He takes one last deep breath of the cinnamon air. Puffly closes his heavy eyes. He falls into a deep, peaceful sleep. Goodnight, little bakery. Goodnight, sweet Puffly.
