Moses story for preschoolers
Once upon a time, in a land called Egypt, there lived a baby named Moses. His mother loved him very much, but she had to hide him because the Pharaoh wanted all the baby boys gone.
Moses’ mother made a basket out of reeds and gently placed him inside. She let the basket float down the river, hoping someone kind would find him.
Miraculously, the Pharaoh’s daughter found Moses in the basket. She decided to keep him and raise him as her own son.
As Moses grew up, he learned about his true family and the suffering of his people. He wanted to help them.
One day, Moses saw an Egyptian being unkind to one of his people. Moses couldn’t bear to see anyone treated badly. So, he stood up for his people and ended up fleeing into the desert.
In the desert, Moses saw a burning bush that spoke to him. It was God speaking! God told Moses to go back to Egypt and free his people from slavery.
With courage in his heart, Moses returned to Egypt. He told the Pharaoh to let his people go, but the Pharaoh refused.
God sent many plagues to Egypt, but still, the Pharaoh wouldn’t let the people go.
Finally, after much struggle and many miracles, the Pharaoh relented. Moses led his people out of Egypt, through the parted Red Sea, and into freedom.
Moses and his people journeyed through the desert, following God’s guidance, until they reached the promised land.
And so, Moses became a hero, leading his people to freedom and showing them the way to a better life.
Biblical reflection
“Love your neighbor as yourself.” – This simple yet profound teaching from the Bible, found in Mark 12:31, emphasizes the importance of compassion, empathy, and kindness towards others. It reminds us to treat others with the same care and respect that we desire for ourselves, fostering harmony and understanding in our communities.
