Welcome to our delightful bedtime story! Join us on a journey with Annie the Ant and Gary the Grasshopper, learning about friendship and preparation. Enjoy!

Chapter 1: The Busy Ant

Once upon a time, in a sunny meadow, there lived a little ant named Annie. Annie was very busy every day. She liked to work hard and gather food for the winter.

Every morning, Annie woke up early. She stretched her tiny legs and said, “Today is a great day to find food!” Then, she marched out of her cozy home.

Annie walked all around the meadow. She picked up crumbs of bread, seeds, and even sweet berries. She put them in her little backpack. “I need to gather enough food for my family,” she thought.

While Annie worked, she saw her friend, Gary the Grasshopper. Gary was sitting on a big leaf, playing music with his violin. He was jumping and singing happily. “Hello, Annie!” he called. “Why are you working so hard? Come and dance with me!”

Annie smiled but shook her head. “I can’t, Gary. I need to gather food for winter. It will be cold soon. You should collect food too!”

Gary laughed and said, “Oh, I don’t worry about winter! I just want to enjoy today.” Then he started to play his music again.

Annie went back to her work. She knew that it was important to prepare for the future.

Chapter 2: The Beautiful Summer

Days went by, and the summer sun shone brightly. Annie worked hard every day. She filled her backpack with food. She saw Gary dancing in the sun. He was happy, but he was not gathering food.

“Gary,” Annie called, “are you sure you don’t want to help me? Winter will come soon!”

Gary just smiled and said, “I’ll be fine, Annie! There’s plenty of time.”

Annie sighed but kept working. She knew that winter could be very cold and dark. She wanted to be ready.

As the days grew shorter, Annie stored food in her little home. She made sure she had seeds, berries, and even some crumbs of bread. “I will be warm and full during the winter,” she thought happily.

Meanwhile, Gary continued to play his music. He danced and sang all day. “Life is fun!” he said. “Why worry about tomorrow?”

But Annie was worried. She hoped Gary would realize the importance of being prepared.

Chapter 3: The Cold Winter

One chilly morning, the first snowflakes began to fall. The meadow turned white, and the air became cold. Annie was snug in her warm home, surrounded by food. She felt happy and safe.

But outside, Gary was cold and hungry. He hopped around, shivering. “Oh no! I forgot to gather food!” he cried.

He knocked on Annie’s door. “Annie! Please help me! I’m so hungry!”

Annie opened her door and saw her friend. “Oh, Gary! I’m glad you came. You should have worked like I did!”

Gary looked sad. “I thought summer would last forever. I just wanted to have fun.”

Annie felt sorry for him. “You can share my food. But promise me that next time you will prepare for winter too.”

Gary nodded. “I promise, Annie. Thank you for being so kind.”

They sat together in Annie’s warm home. Annie shared her food, and they laughed and talked. Gary played his violin, and they enjoyed the moment.

From that day on, Gary remembered to work hard during the sunny days. He learned that it was important to have fun, but also to be prepared for the future.

And so, the ant and the grasshopper became the best of friends, always helping each other through the seasons.
