Fun Facts about Cats and Space!
Did you know that you can learn while you color? Here are some cool facts to share with your kids during this cosmic activity:
- A real cat actually went to space! In 1963, a brave little tuxedo cat from France named Félicette traveled into space and returned safely to Earth, becoming the world’s first and only feline astronaut.
- Astronauts float in space because of something called microgravity. Cats on Earth are famous for their amazing balance and graceful jumps that make them look like they are floating, too!
- There is actually a famous object in space named after our feline friends: The Cat’s Eye Nebula, which is a giant, glowing cloud of gas and dust that looks exactly like a bright, shining cat’s eye.
